This Super Bowl Sunday, you'll have one less halftime distraction to watch while the big game takes a break: the Lingerie Bowl. The event, which featured scantily clad women playing full-contact football with each other, won't air on pay-per-view during halftime this year. The debut of the Lingerie football league on TV has proven to be a ratings success, scoring almost 50 percent more viewers than the top rating A-League game. Viewing figures peaked atviewers, with the Saturday night match averaging 75, during the broadcast. The highest rating A-League game averaged 49, viewers. Aaron Langmaid said the sexualisation of the sport was a marketing strategy.
While Tim Tebow won't be wearing New York Jets' hunter green any longer, he may replace it with an assortment of colorful lingerie if he so chooses. Though Tebow apparently has garnered little interest from other NFL teams in the few hours since his release from the Jets on Monday, Tebow has received offers from several fringe leagues hoping to benefit from his immense popularity. A more outlandish possibility could be a position with the Legends Football League, better known as the seven-on-seven league where women compete in uniforms consisting of helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads and lingerie.
